Learning in Year 5

This term has been an exciting and rewarding one for Year 5! We proudly performed our Christmas play, which was a huge success. Everyone worked incredibly hard, and the audience absolutely loved it. The glowing reviews were a testament to the dedication and talent of our students.

In English, we immersed ourselves in writing non-chronological reports about Sri Lanka, which tied beautifully into our class text. We honed our skills in using relative clauses and focused on writing clear, detailed paragraphs with cohesion. Our hard work paid off as we produced informative and well-structured pieces of writing.

In maths, we have been focusing on addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Through practice and problem-solving activities, we have built both our accuracy and confidence in these key areas.

Our topic work has been equally exciting, with a focus on geography and learning about Europe.

Throughout the term, we have also emphasised teamwork, creativity, and perseverance in everything we do. It has been wonderful to see the students grow in confidence and enthusiasm as they took on challenges and worked together to achieve their goals.

Well done, Year 5, for an amazing term! We look forward to more adventures in learning next year.
