On Friday 4^th November 2022, selected girls from KS2 went to compete in the ‘TTLT Girls Football World Cup Qualifying Round’ which was held at Newham Leisure Centre. There were 12 different schools competing from across the borough. The 12 teams were split into 2 groups of 6. Our team did fantastically well by winning 3, drawing 1 and losing 1. We finished on 10 points and came second in the group. They also did amazing by scoring 8 goals. This meant they had qualified for the finals as only the top 3 teams from each group went through.

 

The finals then took place on Friday 25^th November 2022 once again at Newham Leisure Centre. The girls lost their first match to eventual winners of the tournament. After their opening defeat, the girls won 4 matches in a row and came runners up. They finished 1 point behind the champions. This is an amazing achievement as they have only been playing football for about 5 weeks.
