Year 5 has had an incredible start to the term! In English, we’ve been completely drawn into our new core text, The girl who Stole an Elephant. We’re not just reading—we’re analysing, discussing, and using breakdown and repair strategies to uncover the meanings of unfamiliar words, which is helping us grow as thoughtful, skilled readers.

We’re also filled with excitement for our upcoming Christmas performance! Rehearsals are in full swing, and we’re embracing the challenge of learning songs in new languages, which some of us have never spoken before. It’s an amazing experience to come together, learn from one another, and bring something special to our school community. We can’t wait to share it all with you!
