Rainbow Room
Hello from Rainbow Room,
We are excited to share that Rainbow Room has kicked off with a bang this half-term! The children have settled back in beautifully, and we are thrilled to embark on another exciting half-term filled with exploration and discovery.
This half-term, our focus revolves around food and different textures, and we couldn’t think of a better way to start than with pumpkins! This week, the children had a fantastic time scooping out pumpkins and exploring their unique textures. From the smooth skin to the squishy insides, each child finds joy in this hands-on activity, discovering the wonders of nature and the sensory experiences that come with it.
In addition to our pumpkin exploration, we are excited to introduce our new core book, Room on the Broom. This delightful story will not only spark the children’s imagination but will also serve as a wonderful tool to link our learning around emotions. Throughout this half-term, we aim to consolidate the work we have been doing surrounding feelings and emotional regulation, helping the children to understand and articulate their emotions through visuals and the characters in the story.
Furthermore, our adventures don’t stop in the classroom! Rainbow Class will continue to engage in local trips around the area. These excursions are designed to enrich the children’s learning experience and provide them with opportunities to explore their community, making real-world connections along the way.
As always, we encourage parents to continue to engage with communication books, use the visuals that we have provided and continue to support their child's independence.
Warm regards, The Rainbow Room Team
