Kensington Primary School

No.10 Downing Street

In our role as the Beacon Well Trust, children from Kensington Primary were invited to join Sir Mo Farah and Lisa Nandy (Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport) at No.10 Downing Street this week. The children interviewed Sir Mo about how he became an athlete and what was important to him in his life now. He was very impressed and everyone commented on what a credit the children were to their school.

The visit was part of Sir Mo and the Youth Sport Trust's drive for children to be physically active in school every day. Sir Mo had earlier delivered a letter to the Prime Minister signed by him and fellow Olympic Champions Keely Hodgkinson, Hannah Cockroft, Adam Peaty and others. He said, "By encouraging more children to be active from their early years and throughout childhood, we can break down barriers to opportunity and create the healthiest and happiest generation of children ever in Britain."

At Kensington and in all Tapscott Learning Trust schools, we are committed to ensuring children are physically active. We know this helps them to be happy and healthy and that this is the best way to support their life and their learning.
