Science across the School

 

Year 1

This week, Year 1 explored the topic of healthy and unhealthy food. The children created their very own healthy fruit salads and had meaningful discussions about the benefits of making healthy food choices.

Year 2

Year 2 have been learning about seasonal plants. They took their learning one step further by planting their very own seeds and observing how plants grow over time.

Year 3

Year 3 investigated the importance of sleep and explored the role it plays in keeping us healthy. They also learned about the structure and function of the eye and discussed why regular eye checks are so important.

Year 4

Year 4 took a closer look at the human skeleton. They learnt to name different bones and explored the differences between vertebrates and invertebrates in the animal kingdom.

Year 5

This week, Year 5 explored the properties of different materials. They conducted experiments to test and compare these properties, honing their skills as young scientists.

 

Year 6

Year 6 focused on categorising different plants. They described key features of various species and deepened their understanding of plant classification.
