Kensington Primary School

Sensational School Council

Every week, the School Council members have an inclusive class assembly, to give the other children in their class an opportunity to share their ideas and opinions about how to improve the school.
We asked the conscientious council members why they wanted to be on the School Council and here are some of their replies.
Priya from year 6, the School Council Chairperson, told us that she wanted the opportunity to show how responsible she is.  Nishat from Year 4, a new member of the group, thinks he makes a good representative as he is good at sharing, and always helps children and teachers.
Another School Councillor, Joel from Year 3, said, I care about our school and want to improve it for everyone! I listen to ideas and make sure everyone feels happy and included. If you have ideas to make playtime or class more fun, I’ll help make it happen. I’ll also work hard to make sure our school is kind and friendly to everyone.  Hafida from Year 5 also likes to hear other children's opinions.  Another Year 3 representative, Karam, is a good communicator, listening closely to what people say and speaking politely with them.
