Science in Year 1

Last week, Year 1 had a special 4-legged visitor... Bryson the Hamster! Past pupil Nicolas, kindly gave up his time to bring his much loved pet in to visit all 3 classes.

Nicolas spoke to each class about the care that goes into looking after a hamster. The children were eager to use and put into practice their scientific skill of asking questions, to ask Nicolas some fantastic and inquisitive questions. They then had the opportunity to pet and hold Bryson!

This was a lovely immersive lesson that enhanced the children's learning in Science, which is currently all about animals and how we care for pets. It was definitely a lesson to remember! A big thank you to Nicolas. You were incredible, patient and super confident in leading the lesson to 90 children!
