Learning in Year 1

Learning in Y1W. This week in year 1 has been very exciting as we had Art day on Tuesday with many of our children arriving in class dressed up as Artists and ready to get creative.

We had the opportunity to create paintings and prints, working with a range of different media including: Acrylic, water colour paint and oil pastels; we also  explored a very new type of painting using water colours and salt.

This experience has helped us to build upon and further develop our skills, techniques and knowledge already gained through our Year 1 Art curriculum.

Already in year 1 we’ve  learnt all about the work of Vincent Van Gogh and Henri Matisse.

We have been inspired through our learning about both artists: visiting interactive experiences and developing a range of different artist techniques to create  our very own Masterpieces!

Please see some captured moments of the day and some of the work inspired though our Year 1 Culture curriculum.
