Learning in Reception

This half term Reception are learning all about different modes of transport.  So far, we have focused on road vehicles and track vehicles in class, and we have spent a bit of time outside playing with the boats, ready for when we learn about water vehicles next week!

We have compared old buses to new buses, learnt how to complete a colour by numbers image of a vehicle, and have been writing our own sentences to describe our drawings of trains.

Of course, the big news in Blue Class is that our group project of making the bus is complete!  The children worked really hard to paint the bus and create pictures for the windows, and have now been enjoying role-playing on the bus, with pretend oyster cards and a steering wheel!  The children are getting very good at taking turns and making up stories together to have really lovely imaginative play, both inside and out in the playground too.
