Maths Workshop
This week, we were delighted to welcome parents of Year 1 and 2 children to our maths workshop, led by Mr. Boobier and Mr. Seagull. The focus? Maths anxiety, what it is, why it happens, and, most importantly, how we can help children build confidence in their maths learning.
The session provided practical strategies for parents to use at home, including positive language around maths and ways to develop a growth mindset. We explored how small changes—such as praising effort rather than results—can make a huge difference in a child’s attitude towards maths.
The workshop was a great success, with fantastic engagement from parents, who left feeling more equipped to support their children in developing a love for maths. A huge thank you to everyone who attended!
For those with children in Year 3 and 4, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be running a similar workshop in the summer term. We look forward to seeing lots of parents there again and continuing this journey towards confident, happy young mathematicians!
