Science Week 2018
This year we decided to take a different approach to British Science Week, focusing on birds of prey.
On Monday and Tuesday we were joined by a falcon, hawk, owl and eagle and learned about their habitats, diet and why some of these magnificent creatures are sadly endangered. During the workshop, the birds swooped across our heads with their powerful wings and we were able to see them feed (which helped us learn that they are meat eaters.) Back in class we continued our research learning more about different diets, flight and endangered animals. We have then used this research to create some extremely interesting reports about birds of prey.
We have also been delighted to see so many parents join us for our parent workshops, where they had the opportunity to explore different Science activities and learn with their children. Some of our favourite activities were: making slime, magic sand and making a jelly bath!
Today has been the icing on the cake for our budding Kensington scientists: around the school we have hundreds of children dressed up as science professionals and have had a fantastic bake sale at our inspiring science fair.
Miss Cowx would like to thank all of our members of staff, parents and most importantly our children for making this another magical, memorable science week.
