Star learner of the week EYFS&YEAR 1

Ayaana has had a fantastic term! She has made INCREDIBLE progress in her learning and Mrs Akter & I are immensely proud of all she has achieved. She has been resilient, hard working & positive in all areas of her learning. When she first started in Y1, Ayaana struggled with identifying initial sounds. As a result of all her efforts, she is able to not only identify initial sounds confidently, but spell cvc words independently and with ease! She is making better choices when it comes to her friendships, and it has been lovely to see how far she has come in such a short amount of time. You are a superstar Ayaana! Star learner of the week YEAR 2-3

Aaisha is an outstanding role model in our class. She is kind, considerate, and always willing to support those around her. Her dedication to learning is truly inspiring—she always strives to do her very best in everything she does.

This term, Aaisha worked incredibly hard, particularly in maths. Her determination and perseverance are evident in the thoughtful discussions she has with her partner on the carpet, as well as in the fantastic progress shown in her books. She approaches challenges with a positive attitude, never giving up until she fully understands a concept.

Aaisha’s effort and enthusiasm extend beyond maths; she consistently puts the same level of care and dedication into all her work, including English. Her hard work, kindness, and resilience make her a very deserving Star Learner.

Star learner of the week YEAR 4-6

Ayana has truly shone this week, demonstrating an exceptional commitment to her learning. Her diligence and hard work are evident in every task she undertakes, as she consistently strives for excellence and approaches challenges with determination. She listens attentively, thinks critically about her work, and puts in the effort to improve, showing a reflective attitude that sets her apart. Ayana not only meets expectations but exceeds them, taking pride in producing thoughtful, well-presented work that reflects her growing understanding and dedication.

Beyond her own achievements, Ayana is also a wonderfully supportive and considerate member of the class. She is always willing to lend a helping hand to her peers, offering encouragement and assistance with kindness and patience. Whether explaining a tricky concept, sharing ideas, or simply being a positive presence, Ayana’s generosity and teamwork make her a valued classmate. Her ability to balance her own learning with helping others is truly commendable, making her a well-deserving recipient of our Star Learner of the Week award.

This week, Ayana also impressed us with her stunning painting inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, created in the style of Romanticism. She captured the magic and wonder of the story beautifully, using rich colours and expressive brushstrokes to bring Willy Wonka’s world to life. Her attention to detail and creative interpretation of the book’s themes showed real artistic talent, as she skilfully blended light and shadow to create a dreamlike atmosphere. Ayana’s work demonstrated both imagination and technical skill, making it a truly captivating piece that reflects her deep engagement with our class book.

Star learner of the week EYFS&YEAR 1

Sulaymaan has made amazing progress this half-term in his phonics. He is beginning to read books fluently, recalls the new sounds we have learnt and is beginning to blend words in his head. This amazing phonics work can be seen in his writing too. He is able to write most red words independently and writes full sentences on his own. I am very proud of him!

Star learner of the week YEAR 2-3

Ruby has been chosen as the Star Learner of the Week for her consistent effort and positive attitude. She always works hard in class and has produced an excellent alternative ending for Claude in the City. She is always happy to share her ideas with the class, helping them to spark their own. She is such a positive influence, I feel lucky to have her in our class. All of this in such a short space of time, considering she joined a few weeks ago. Well done, Ruby!

Star learner of the week YEAR 4-6

Diya is a remarkably kind and empathetic child who gets on with everyone in the class. She has blossomed this term and has taken more ownership of her learning.  Her excitement about learning is wonderful to see, and we are proud of her hard work and determination.  Additionally, she has become more eager to complete her work.  Her confidence has grown immensely, and she is a super helper, often supporting other children with their learning if they are stuck. This is just one example of her generous disposition. We could tell you many more. Another significant step for Diya is that she often remembers to ask for help when she is stuck. We are proud of  how she has become more focussed on her learning,  and reliably completes all her learning and tasks.  Well done Diya.

Star learner of the week EYFS&YEAR 1

Rania is Y1W's well-deserved winner of Star learner. Her attitude towards learning is fantastic. She has grown in confidence as the years progressed and is now really reaping the benefit of all her efforts and hard work. She is developing quickly across all subject areas; happy to ask for help and her self-esteem is blossoming wonderfully. Keep up the hard work, Rania. We are all very proud of you.

Aicha has had a positive change to her learning attitude. She’s been trying really hard in all her lessons and is challenging herself in her learning. During Science Week, she’s was the team leader for her table and she ensured that her peers worked well together to create a mini beast habitat.

Phoebe has been fantastic this term in all of her learning! Her writing has gone from strength to strength, she wrote a brilliant news article on Narnia. She is an avid reader and has read a huge range of books.

Phoebe is a popular member of our class and she has shown kindness and great care in her developing friendships. She continues to give her utmost attention and care in her academic as well as her emotional development. She has really grown in confidence and did a brilliant job in our whole school performance. She enjoys and thrives in Physical Health and has shown exceptional progress in Gymnastics. She has also been chosen as one of our Year 5 marathon runners. I am really proud of Phoebe and can't wait to see her reaching for the sky! Well done Phoebe.

Star learner of the week EYFS&YEAR 1

Rayyan has made amazing progress this term.  We have all seen how confident he has become in class, with following the routines, making friendships and practising his writing and numbers. We are proud to celebrate Ahmed as our Star Learner in Year 3S this term! Ahmed has shown remarkable progress in his learning, impressing both his teachers and classmates with his dedication and hard work.

One of Ahmed’s biggest achievements is the speed at which he completes his work. He has become incredibly quick and efficient, finishing tasks with impressive accuracy. His focus has also significantly improved, allowing him to stay on track and make the most of every lesson.

In addition to his speed and concentration, the quality of Ahmed's work has been consistently outstanding. Whether it’s in maths, reading, or writing, he always gives his best and takes great care in ensuring his work is of the highest standard.

Mahreen has truly shined this term, demonstrating outstanding dedication and progress in all subjects. Her enthusiasm for learning and commitment to doing her best make her a role model for her peers. What truly sets Maureen apart is her kindness and fairness—she consistently treats everyone with respect and is always willing to lend a helping hand.

Beyond her academic achievements, Mahreen is a wonderful friend to all, especially new students, making sure they feel welcome and included. Her positive attitude, generosity, and willingness to support others create a warm and friendly classroom environment. Star learner of the week EYFS&YEAR 1

This week’s Star Learner in Y1I is Amara! She consistently arrives ready to learn, listens attentively during carpet time, and puts in outstanding effort across all her work. Amara has worked incredibly hard to deepen her understanding of doubles and near doubles, confidently using her subject knowledge to solve tricky double word problems with minimal support. Not only is Amara a dedicated learner, but she is also a fantastic role model, always demonstrating kindness and happily helping others in her class.

Star learner of the week YEAR 2-3

Ishaaq is an excellent role model for his peers, consistently demonstrating kindness, politeness, and puts in 100% effort in all his work. He gives 100% effort in everything he does and has made outstanding progress across the curriculum. His dedication goes beyond the classroom, as he regularly completes additional work at home.

In Maths, he has been learning and recalling his times tables, using arrays and repeated addition to solve multiplication problems.

Star learner for Y6M Noumaan. Noumaan is a sweet and polite boy who has made incredible progress in everything he sets his mind to. His kindness and determination shine through in all that he does, always treating others with respect and ensuring that he presents himself with fantastic manners and a warm smile. Never afraid to ask for help, he sees every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow. Star learner of the week EYFS&YEAR 1

Teddy has been an exceptional student who consistently gives his best effort in everything he does.

This half term, Teddy has worked incredibly hard with our core book, The Three Little Pigs. He impressed us all with a wonderfully detailed recount of the story, showing great understanding and enthusiasm.

Teddy is also always willing to help his classmates and is excellent at tidying up after activities. His positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the class make him a standout student.

Shameestra: This term, we have been looking at the features of a newspaper article, and for most of the children, it is the first time they have read and seen a newspaper, and they had to include the 5W's-who, what, when, where and why in there own newspaper article from the book they have been reading 'The Killer Cat.  

Shameestra persevered and wrote two pages, and made sure to include really good grammar, paragraphs, nouns and adjectives- so proud of her work I put it on display! Well done.

A huge congratulations to Jaktar, Y6B's Star Learner of the Week! This week, Jaktar has amazed us with his incredible persuasive pitch for a mythical creature of his own creation. His creature was extremely creative and original—like no other! Through his imaginative ideas and powerful persuasive techniques, he brought his unique creation to life in a way that truly captivated his audience.

It has been fantastic to see Jaktar so engrossed and passionate about his work, and his enthusiasm has helped him produce his best writing of the year so far. A brilliant effort well done, Jaktar! Keep up the amazing work!

Star learner of the week EYFS&YEAR 1

Maryam has been an absolute superstar this term! She has been working incredibly hard across all areas of the curriculum, in particular, our Physical Health and Fitness lessons. Maryam has shown great progress in writing and has produced some wonderful work based on our core text 'There's a Rang-tan in My Bedroom'. She has made lovely new friendships this term, and it has been a joy to see her feel more comfortable around her peers and grow in confidence. Keep being you, Maryam. This week, our star learner is Mustafa for his ambitious approach to learning and his hard work in Maths and English. Mustafa has shown incredible determination, tackling challenging maths problems with confidence and showing great progress, particularly in English, where he has been drafting, editing and rewriting his letter to Laszlo. His enthusiasm for learning is truly inspiring, and he never backs down from a challenge. He consistently puts in his best effort, demonstrating perseverance, curiosity, and a positive attitude in everything he does. Mustafa is a fantastic role model for his peers, and I am so proud of his achievements.

Ibrahim always has a positive attitude towards learning and has come a long way from being shy and an introvert. In lessons, he is always focused, attentive and tries his very best. He now regularly puts his hand up to contribute to discussions. Also, this half-term, Ibrahim was tasked with supporting another student, and he did this effortlessly and was always there to guide and help with whatever they might struggle with, despite the language barrier. Thank you, Ibrahim, for being a lovely member of the class, always smiling and friendly and, therefore others.

Kafirah has made amazing progress in all areas of her learning over the past couple of weeks. She is beginning to independently identify her Set 1 sounds when doing her writing and her happiness and confidence over her growing ability is amazing to see. I'm very proud of her.

Our star learner in Y3G is Nabil. He has been trying so hard in class this week, from phonics in the morning to grouping items into categories in technology and learning number bonds to 10 in maths. He is able to focus on his learning and work well with his partner. Nabil is in school every single day, ready to learn, and even when he finds it challenging he keeps putting in lots of effort. Well done Nabil!

Maia Samuels is this week's Star Learner of the Week from Y4S for consistently challenging herself across all subjects and ensuring her work is always completed to an excellent standard.

Maia has particularly excelled in English, Communication, and Technology, fully embracing the Year 4 theme of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with enthusiasm and creativity. In English, she impressed me with her use of prepositional phrases and persuasive techniques to promote her imaginative chocolate brand. In Technology, she designed an interactive poster and a presentation slide to showcase her chocolate creation. In Communication, she demonstrates confidence by delivering her speech effectively, using body language, eye contact, and intonation to engage her audience.

Maia’s dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm make her a fantastic role model for her peers. Well done, Maia!

Star learner of the week EYFS&YEAR 1

Waresha Sunvi in Y1W is a very deserved recipient of the leaner of the week. Always positive and smiling, she has a stellar attitude and steely determination. This learning characteristic is really benefiting her personally: deliverying excellent progress across the entire curriculum. Keep smiling, Waresha, you are a real pleasure to work with, and we are all very proud of you.

Samiksha has been working really hard in her Maths lessons and learning to subtract independently. She has been using the place value chart and dines to help her solve her questions. She is someone who always listens in class and is building her confidence to speak and answer questions. Well done!

Star learner of the week YEAR 4-6

The star learner for Y4B this half-term is Humairah. Humairah has shown great ambition and dedication to all her learning this half-term and has started to grow in confidence, which is evident by how often she volunteers to share her opinions during class discussions. She is kind, sensitive, resilient and has begun to be much more independent in her learning now that her confidence has improved. 

Most recently, she continuously improved on her times table scores week by week, as well as producing high-quality and creative work in English lessons. Her chocolate design and description using ambitious adjectives and prepositional phrases to add detail really impressed me. Her level of effort in all she does is unrivalled. She is always looking for ways to improve or up level her learning, which showcases her fantastic attitude towards her learning. Humairah really is a star learner and a star pupil. Star learner of the week EYFS&YEAR 1

Ayan has come to school happy every day this week! This is a huge achievement for Ayan and shows just how much more confident he has become in school. Ayan's English is improving, he is playing nicely with other children, sitting nicely on the carpet, and has been working really hard - especially with his writing skills.  Let's hope everyday starts with a smile now!

This week, we are excited to celebrate Khadijah from Class Y3S as our Star of the Week! Khadijah has shown incredible perseverance and determination in her learning, particularly when tackling challenging topics in math like arrays and repeated addition.

Despite the complexities these concepts sometimes present, Khadijah never gives up. She approaches each challenge with a positive attitude, asking questions, practicing with dedication, and seeking new ways to understand the material. Her persistence has paid off, and she has made impressive progress in mastering these skills.

Khadijah’s ability to stay focused and resilient, even when faced with difficult tasks, is an inspiring example for her classmates. She truly embodies the spirit of never giving up, no matter how tough the learning journey may seem.

Mahdi has an incredible attitude to learning and is taking on board the Kensington qualities of curiosity and ambition to take his learning to another level. He is consistent  in his determination to learn. His enthusiasm for completing reading tasks for home learning also has a greatly positive impact on his writing skills. Mahdi has taken control of his own learning and is self-motivated, always encouraging others with his attitude. Mahdi approaches each learning opportunity with an unquenching thirst for knowledge. Khadija in Y5SP is a star learner.   This week in English, we’ve been reading The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and trying to use visualisation as a strategy for deepening our understanding of the text.  She has worked hard at this, trying to understand some of the phrases and words, and then sharing with her group what she thinks the text means.  Over the course of the week she got better at this, and her group benefited from her insights into the story.  Well done Fatima, I’m proud to have you in our class.

Here are my learners of the term for Starfish & Twilight rooms, respectively. 

This term, Reyansh has shown incredible growth and a positive attitude toward his learning. He consistently listens carefully to instructions and is always eager to explore the different resources in the classroom. Reyansh is highly engaged with his learning and shows great initiative by tidying up in preparation for the next activity. During group learning, he sets a fantastic example for his peers, demonstrating teamwork and focus. Additionally, Reyansh has begun making confident choices using picture cards, showing his independence and progress. Well done, Reyansh – keep up the amazing work!  

This term, Mahfuz has made outstanding progress across all areas of his learning. He is on the verge of moving onto green phonics books next half-term, showcasing his growing confidence and skill in reading. Learner of the Term for Rainbow room!

Watson has been chosen as the Learner of the Term for Rainbow room! His ability to adapt and excel in new routines has been truly impressive and deserves to be celebrated. Watson has shown remarkable growth in his ability to share with his classmates and actively listen to instructions. His positive attitude and eagerness to learn is infectious, inspiring his peers to join in and contribute.

One of Watson's greatest strengths is his adaptability. As we introduced new routines and activities this term, Watson smoothly adjusted and approached each change with an open mind. His flexibility not only benefits him but also sets an excellent example for his classmates, showing that change can be a positive experience.

Learner of the term in  EYFS&YEAR 1

Learner of the term is Janz in the Blue class.

Janz is so dedicated to her learning.  We have really seen her progress with phonics, handwriting and her numbers.  She takes real joy from learning and practises those every day in her own time.

Janz is a lovely friend to other classmates, always being kind and looking after people when needed.  She always listens nicely on the carpet and is a sensitive role model for everyone else.

Learner of the tterm is Nathaniel

When Nathaniel first entered reception he lacked huge confidence socially and academically. He found it very difficult to approach other children to play with them and didn't want to try any of his learning. Now, four months on, Nathaniel is one of the most confident and popular members of the class. He has gone from struggling to hold a pencil to writing a whole sentence. He now interacts with every member of reception, always has a smile on his face and is pleasure to have in the class. I am so proud of the progress Nathaniel has made and an excellent example he sets to the rest of the class. Well done!

Melissa has been selected as the Learner of the Term for Yellow Class! Her dedication and hard work have truly set her apart, making a positive impact on her classmates.
From day one, Melissa has shown an unwavering commitment to her studies. Idris has been an exceptional star pupil this term! He has produced incredible work in English this week, designing his own superhero and writing a short narrative about 'Lightning the Superhero' saving the day. He has made fantastic progress in all areas of his learning and is an absolute joy to teach. Idris had an exciting opportunity to visit 10 Downing Street earlier this term and met Olympic gold medalist, Mo Farah! He should be so proud of the way he represented himself and the school; he was curious, polite and confident - all attributes that embody our school values.

Learner of the term is Adithyan in Y2A 

My learner of the term is Adithyan. Adithyan joined Y2A halfway through Autumn 1 and initially faced some challenges settling into his new environment. 

However, his perseverance and determination to overcome his initial uncertainty is a testament to the individual that he is. He is a kind-hearted individual, with an enthusiasm for learning and developing new skills.

Adithyan is a wonderful addition to our class, and it has been heartwarming for us all to hear him playing and laughing with his friends - not just in English but also in his home language, Malayalam. 

Recently, Adithyan has been trying to teach me to speak Malyalam, although I am definitely not as talented as Adithyan is when it comes to learning an additional language! 

Adithyan, well done on your hard work this term. We are all very proud of you and can’t wait to show your mummy your hard work and effort!

In Y3S, we are thrilled to highlight the remarkable progress of Hassan this term. His journey towards greater independence has been truly inspiring, and his positive attitude towards school has made a significant impact on his learning experience. Hassan now arrives at school with a bright smile, ready to embrace each day’s challenges. His motivation to complete tasks independently is evident; he approaches his work with enthusiasm and determination. This newfound resilience has allowed him to tackle challenging subjects, demonstrating a willingness to push himself beyond his comfort zone. One of the most notable improvements has been in his academic skills. Hassan quickly grasped new concepts, showing an impressive ability to learn and adapt. His handwriting has noticeably improved, both in clarity and presentation, and the quantity of his work has increased significantly. This growth reflects his commitment to doing his best and taking pride in his accomplishments. Beyond academics, Hassan has also blossomed socially. He has emerged as a confident dancer, showcasing his talents during class activities. This self-expression has helped him come out of his shell, allowing him to engage and play with his peers more freely. His interactions with other children have fostered friendships, contributing to a positive classroom environment. Overall, Hassan's journey this term is a testament to his hard work and dedication. We are excited to see how he continues to grow and thrive in the coming months!

Over the term, Turaifah has built resilience during lessons, answering questions and when it comes to independent work, Turaifah works hard and completes work to a good standard. She often completes the challenge towards the end of the lesson, which is great to see! Definitely on track and excited to see her level of work next year.

She consistently produces work to a high standard and has greatly improved her timetable knowledge over this half-term. The learner of the term for Y4H is Areez. 

Areez worked hard all this term in all areas of his learning. He has shown great self-awareness and has been the author of his own learning journey. Areez has made amazing progress with his times-tables and is on target to pass his time-table check in the coming year. Areez is conscientious and consistently pushes himself in every area of learning, showing great Kensington ambition! Well done Areez.

 

Oishani is a brilliant learner of the term in Y5SP.

She has made lots of progress with her social skills and independent learning.  Her confidence and resilience have grown immensely during her time in Year 5.  She has become more assertive at expressing her needs and wants.  She participates fully in whole class activities and is always keen to learn new things.  In the Year 5 parents assembly, she openly and confidently stated that she wanted to participate in a dance performance and to act in the play.  She did both of these things fantastically.  We are extremely proud of her and anticipate more great things from her.

 

Learner of the term is Lilly in Y5R

Lilly has settled into Year 5 exceptionally well and has truly flourished as a learner. She is a kind, empathetic, and thoughtful member of the class, consistently checking in to see how others are feeling and offering her support when needed. Her caring nature creates a positive and welcoming vibe in the classroom, making her a valued friend and peer to everyone. This year, Lilly has demonstrated increased motivation and focus, particularly during our Year 5 performance. She participated with enthusiasm and confidence, always ready to sing, practice her lines, and encourage her classmates. Her dedication and positivity were truly inspiring.

Our Y5S Learner of the Term is Abinayan.

Abinayan has engaged so well with our different topics across the Y5 Curriculum during the Autumn Term! This is most evident in the extra work and research that he has done on the various topics and subject areas.

Abinayan would often extend his learning at home and then bring in examples to show us the amazing effort, application and progress that he continues to make. He also readily contributes during learning and activities in class, particularly in Maths and Art. Mrs Siddiqah and I are very proud of your excellent work ethic, Abinayan! Well done!

The learner of the term for Y6M is Asees. Asees is a kind and quiet student who has a strong presence in the classroom.  Her politeness and kindness go hand in hand with her continued high expectations that she sets for herself daily. Always being committed to her learning.  Asees consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic that inspires those around her. Jonathan always has a positive attitude to learning. Throughout the term, Jonathan has produced great work through attention, care and detail. Sometimes, Jonathan sits and ponders, but you can see that he loves to take the time to think through his ideas before getting them on to paper. Jonathan also loves to read and is always taking any opportunity to read and progress in different learning areas. Reading has impacted his writing in a positive way, and he writes using different linguistic devices for different purposes. Well done Jonathan, keep up the good work.

 

Learner of the term in Y6B is Ayyan.

Y6B's star learner of the term is Ayyan. Ayyan is the star learner of the term due to his insane progress since the start of the year. He has made progress in every aspect of his learning, both academically and socially. He is someone who naturally can be quite shy. However, I have seen his confidence grow in school over recent months to a level where he is now a role model and captain to his peers. Alongside his greatly improved communication skills, Ayyan has also displayed excellent commitment to his writing. In recent weeks, he has written an extremely thought-provoking character description of Hamlet. When I read his work, it is so creative and original that I feel as though I am transported to that world! 

Overall, he is a dream to teach. Well done Ayyan, you are a legend!

Star learner of the week EYFS&YEAR 1

Aminah was an absolute superstar this term! She is a model student, who is always ready to learn and completes all tasks to the best of her ability. She has worked particularly hard in Maths and is now able to grasp concepts she once found difficult. This term, she has produced work to be proud of. She has made significant strides in Phonics and now reads more confidently and fluently. She has shown fantastic resilience in our Physical Health lessons and refuses to give up if there is a new skill she is unable to achieve YET. This has led to fantastic achievements, and she is well on her way to becoming a confident skipper. I can always count on Aminah to make the right choices. She is kind and considerate to all of her peers and is my incredible little helper in class. This week, we are thrilled to celebrate Anaya from Y3S as our Star Learner! Anaya has truly shone in her recent work, particularly in her exploration of rhyming word pairs. She creatively used these pairs to craft a delightful short verse inspired by our story of the Stick Man.

Last week, Year 3 had the exciting opportunity to see the Stick Man brought to life on stage at the theater. Anaya’s enthusiasm for the story was evident in her writing, showcasing not only her understanding of the narrative but also her ability to play with language in a fun and imaginative way.

Anaya exemplifies what it means to be a star pupil. She demonstrates a strong work ethic across all areas of the curriculum, consistently striving for excellence. Beyond her academic achievements, Anaya also exhibits remarkable leadership skills, often taking the initiative in group activities and encouraging her classmates to do their best.

Samanvi is the star learner in Y2R due to her remarkable improvements in her attitude toward learning. In the past, she would often give up easily, believing she couldn’t do it. Now, she demonstrates perseverance, and it’s evident that not only has her work improved, but she also appears much happier and takes pride in her achievements. This week, we have been learning to add two-digit numbers using exchange, and she has developed a strong understanding of this strategy.

Assiya is a lovely girl who always tries her best in all areas of her learning. Recently, she has been learning about cube numbers and prime factors, and her dedication and perseverance have been truly inspiring. She has faced her fear of maths with bravery, consistently attempting every challenge with a positive attitude.

Her willingness to make mistakes and learn from them has been a key part of her progress, and she approaches her work with determination and a growth mindset. Assiya's efforts have not only improved her understanding of mathematical concepts but also boosted her confidence. Aasiyah Alam for always persevering during lessons, especially in maths. It was a challenging week with adding and subtracting three-digit numbers and showing different mathematical techniques to see how she got her answer. During lessons, she never gives up, she asks questions and gives it a go! Well done Aasiyah !

At the start of the year, Tanisha was an extremely quiet and reserved pupil, often keeping to herself during class discussions. Despite her quiet demeanour, she demonstrated a strong work ethic, consistently putting great effort into her tasks and setting high expectations for herself. Over time, she grew more comfortable in the classroom environment. This newfound confidence has not only elevated her engagement but has also enhanced the quality of her work, which now reflects both her determination and her growing self-assurance. Especially with her war poems, always meeting the intended learning and ensuring she asks questions to further understand the use of similes, metaphors and the use of semicolons. It has been inspiring to witness her personal and academic growth, as she continues to flourish and find her voice. Although still quiet, Tanisha should be very proud of her strong start. Glory is Y6B's star learner due to the passion he has shown in his creative writing in recent weeks. He is always extremely thoughtful and creative with his use of similes, metaphors, personification etc. Over the last couple of days, he has started to use his figurative language to construct a carefully written war-related poem. His excitement for creative writing is inspiring for both myself and the whole of Y6B, and I will often use his work as a model example. Keep up this excellent work, Glory. Yuvika is a role model in the class, helping others and sharing ideas. Her kindness stands out as she is always willing to go above and beyond for her classmates. Often, we are most helpful and kind to our friends, but Yuvika treats everyone the same. She is a fantastic learning partner, both on the carpet and at her table, because of her listening and communication skills. We have been learning about mental maths methods, using place value charts and bar models, and Yuvika has worked her hardest to make sure she understands and completes the tasks. Sheon started Y6J not very long ago, and he is already shining very bright in every aspect of his learning. He has developed confidence, asks and answers questions confidently in class, listens attentively and is always motivated. He a true example of a child with a great attitude to learning. Across the curriculum, he has done well to catch up with his peers and solidify his knowledge and understanding of maths, English, science and culture. He attempts challenges often in lessons that he finds difficult and pushes himself to persevere and not give up. He also does self-study at home and his homework is always of top quality. Sofia has had a brilliant first week back. She’s motivated, dedicated and working hard in all areas of her learning. I have been impressed with her Science work as she completed the life cycle of a butterfly and a frog and had good presentation in her book. I also enjoyed reading her story, which she wrote during the holidays.

She is so kind, and such a role model for all in our classroom. She is creative and comes up with beautiful pieces of art to enhance her learning. She has been designing the front cover to our class poem book and is happy to do this in her own time. Her poem she created at the end of last half-term was well-thought-out and had all the devices that we had studied in class.
